A Protein Source Guide. Good Protein, Bad Protein Whey Protein.

A good protein source helps your body keep young and repair itself. Eating the right kind protein is important for good health. Try to get 3 to 5 servings a day of low saturated fat protein like:1. Organic Chicken and Turkey- Compared to regular poultry, organic poultry is higher in good fats and lower in the bad fats. It is also free of antibiotics and other chemicals that can mess with your body. Beware of Free Range, this usually just means they get to see the sun once in a while. Remove the skin when you eat poultry to reduce the fat even more. EGGS are best when organic as well. Look for the eggs that are high in Omega 3''s but try to only eat a few a week.2. Fish- Try to eat wild fatty fish like wild alaskan salmon or halibut 3 times a week. These fish are a great protein source and high in Omega 3''s. Sardines in olive oil are also good. Avoid farmed fish as they usually have a substantially higher amount of toxins. For the purest wild salmon available, all of the big time anti-aging Doctors like Dr. Weil and Dr. Perricone all recommend a really great seafood company in Alaska that goes by the name of Vital Choice.

Vital Choice has, hands down, the best wild salmon we''ve ever had. It also has great mediterranean sardines and a variety of other guaranteed pure seafood. You can also get whey protein from hormone free cows.6. Lean Organic Grass Fed Beef or Buffalo- Grass fed beef is much lower in saturated fats than grain fed. It also contains Omega 3''s and Conjugated Linoleic Acid(CLA). CLA actually helps you lose weight and prevents heart disease. Organic beef is also free of growth steriods that make you fat, antibiotics and chemicals.PROTEIN SOURCES TO AVOID1. Pork- Pigs are a dirty animal. They can only sweat out of their hooves, so they aren''t very good at eliminating toxins from their bodies.2. Red Meat- Always try to eat the organic, grass fed lean cuts. Limit your red meat consumption to a few times a month.3. Cold cuts or Lunch Meat- These are usually extra salty and fatty. They also contain nitrites, a kind of preservative, which combine with other substances in the meat to form cancer causing carcinogens.4. A Protein Source Cooked at High Temperatures- When foods are cooked at high temperatures like broiling, grilling or frying, high amounts of carcinogens are formed.return from the protein source page to the BOOM DIET here!
